Whitsunday Quarry Sold for $600,000
A quarry at Mt Marlow in North Queensland’s Whitsunday region has been sold by Ray White Commercial Townville for $600,000.
The property at 824 Shute Harbour Road, Mt Marlow, was sold to a regional transport company by Ray White Commercial Townsville’s Eliza Taylor and Adrian Pascoe on behalf of Receivers and Managers.
Eliza Taylor said the approximately 3.49ha quarry site was not sold as a going concern but included a weighbridge office and workshop.
“We had good interest in this site with a number of offers made from regionally based purchasers,” she said.
Adrian Pascoe said the site benefits from a Development Approval and has operated as a quarry distributing several types of product including hard rock, fill and waste material.
“The site is approximately 10km north-east of Proserpine and a number of rural properties and farms are scattered in the local vicinity,” he said.
“The resources within the current quarry area extend to approximately 340,000 tonnes.
“There’s an estimation of future commencing output of 40,000 tonnes per annum rising to 50,000 tonnes per annum in future years.”
Adrian Pascoe said machinery from the quarry was sold off individually at an auction last month
