New Headquarters for Coast to Country Housing Company
Not-for-profit community housing organisation Coast to Country (C2C) Housing Company has leased a new headquarters at Aitkenvale in Townsville to accommodate its growing operations.
C2C has secured the former Queensland Country Credit Union site at 294-296 Ross River Road, Aitkenvale, in a deal negotiated by Ray White Commercial Townsville Director Adrian Pascoe in conjunction with James Pascoe of Colliers International.
Adrian Pascoe said Ray White Commercial Townsville had a proud connection with C2C and had assisted with all the lease negotiations for the organisation in Townsville since it was established to provide affordable housing to people in the community.
“Over the years we have secured C2C’s first 100 sqm tenancy through to the latest 1,130 sqm office building at Aitkenvale,” Adrian Pascoe said.
“We have built up a strong relationship with C2C and look forward to continuing that relationship.”
C2C Chief Executive Officer Marsha Davies said the Ross River Rd building was an ideal site as it facilitates multiple organisations co-locating in the one building.
C2C has partnered with Australian Red Cross, Sharehouse Youth Accommodation Program and The Women’s Centre to establish Housing Connections. This consortium of organisations will deliver an immediate and responsive service to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The size of this building has allowed Housing Connections to welcome other community organisations to co-locate at the building.
“We were in need of larger premises to deliver this integrated service hub and this site was just what we were looking for,” Ms Davies said.
“The lift to the first floor provides disability access which is very important. The site is also close to major shopping centres and public transport.”
James Pascoe said the facility was on a fully concreted land area of 2,024 sqm and had on-site parking for 30 cars.
“This property is in the highly sought after commercial precinct of Aitkenvale right in the geographical centre of Townsville,” he said.
Housing Connections will create sustainable solutions for people in need of housing and support in the community.
C2C has taken out a six year lease for an undisclosed annual rental.
